Networking Workshop

Making networking count: Student Networking workshop

Are you interested in learning how to make the most of networking opportunities? Making Networking Count will provide students with the opportunity to develop their networking skills prior to the conference. This interactive workshop will cover topics such as the importance of networking, and how to start conversations. Students will then be able to put these new skills to use via a speed networking event.

Come join us for a fun group visit to Science World! You will have the chance to enjoy exhibits such as Bodyworks, Sustainability Gallery, Eureka, and the Science Behind Pixar. The cost for students is $20 (please bring payment in cash and note that this cost not include the price of transportation). We will be travelling to Science World via Skytrain; Skytrain tickets can be purchased via cash or credit card at the Skytrain station.

SC-CÉ Student Social Night Out

All students and recent graduates are invited to attend a social where we will enjoy food and drinks at a local pub before the Conference Opening Ceremonies. The student social will take place at 5:00pm following the Student Visit to Science World. If you will not be visiting Science World you are still welcome to join us for the Social. The pub location and directions will be posted at the Student Connection Display Table. All attendees are responsible for their own costs.

Delegates are invited to purchase tickets for a Raffle draw to support the Student Connection. Raffle tickets are on sale during conference breaks for $2.00 each, three for $5.00 or $10.00 for an arm’s length! The grand prize will be $150 worth of gift cards, with additional prizes available to be won. Winners will be announced on Saturday at the CAG luncheon.

Hear from fellow students about how they are successfully promoting gerontology in academic, professional, and community settings. This symposium will include discussion of how students can take leadership roles in strengthening the presence of gerontology on their campus and organize gerontology-related events at their school or in the community.
